  1. My favorite hero's story is Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a young boy who faces many obstacles to overcome his worst enemy, Lord Voldemort. The seven books have been made into films. The first six books are already out on DVD, or at least almost, and the seventh book, is nearly done being filmed in two parts. Every spect of the books about him, I enjoy. His journey is very long and difficult, as it lasts six years from when he was eleven to seventeen. The journey means facing Lord Voldemort many times, and overcoming him. This includes the adventure which he does with his best friends Hermione and Ron. His friends stay with him for most of the time and is with what he does. Harry is a very intriguing character who overcomes a lot of critisizm and praise throughout the series.

  2. My favorite Hero's story is Lemony Snicket's A series of Unfortunate Events. it is a book series about three orphans whose lives are filled with misfortune wherever they turn. The main point about this story that i like most is the idea that these children cannot rely on anyone else to help them, but in any situation they are able to save themselves. Also, it is not a typical journey where there is a happy ending, through many of the books the endings are not happy, but the children fight through the hard times.

  3. My personal favorite Hero story is that of Honor Harrington in an eleven part series by David Weber. This is exclusive of the short stories which also have her as the main character which give even more background detail about her life. Throughout these book she undergoes almost of the different stages of the hero story. What i like most about it is in two separate parts. First and most importantly are the characters in it. i can think of at least 25 characters in the story that are semi-major characters and i like how much detail it goes into about them as well as the main character. The second part is that the series take place in a future timeline but he still goes into detail about how all of this technology, which does not yet exist, is supposed to work. I think that this gives the books a more realistic feel to them. Also the events are very diverse so it is not the same thing happening every time which is nice. Lastly there is a good mix of positive and negative events which makes it seem more like reality.

  4. My personal favorite Hero story is that of Black Hawk Down. This movie is based in Somali. A small group of highly trained Marines are sent into Somali to rescue a shot down helicopter. This small group of marines have to go into a combat zone just to save 2 men that could already have been killed. These soldiers risk their own lives to try to rescue a fallen soldier. During the rescue mission another helicopter is shot down and they now have to rescue 2 downed helicopters. This movie represents the brotherhood of a US soldier which means a lot to me for the fact that I am joining the United States Marine Corps. Some of the soldiers in this movie are killed during the chance to rescue a fallen soldier. This movie is a good representation of how evil war can really be. This movie also has a good ending due to the fact that there was a successful mission by rescuing the captured and fallen soldiers. Any person that signs their name on the dotted line and says that they are willing to do anything they are told to do in the military are heros to me.

  5. My favorite hero is from Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Although I read this book a few years ago it is a story that I enjoyed reading and one that I always remember. Atticus Finch is a father to Scout and Jem. What I liked most about the book was that the children were a handful for Atticus; however, he always taught them what was right. He would teach them what was right no matter what the rest of the town believed. Atticus defended a black man named Tom Robinson during a trial where he was accused for raping a white woman. Atticus knew he was innocent so he fought for what was right even though everyone in the town was against it. Because of Atticus’s actions, the family suffers and is looked down on but Atticus continues to teach his children not to follow others. He is a hero because he fought for what he believed in and did not go along with society.

My favorite hero story is Michael Collins. It is a movie about the irish fight for independence in the early 1900's. The story begins when Collins takes part in the most significant rebellion at the time, the Easter Rising. The English quell the rebellion and all the leaders were executed. Collins luckily did not suffer the same fate as his comrads and spent time in jail. Upon his release he becomes a very active politcal activist and guerilla leader. Collins quickyl makes a name for himself as a brillant combat leader and is very well respected bu the Irish and feared by the English. The story comes to a point when Ireland becomes a reblubic and the north stays English controlled. This division of country causes in-fighting in the Irish which leads to Collins' eventual death in his birthplace of Cork. This story has many archetypal characters such as The Intiates, Mentors, Hunting group of companions, loyal retainers and the platonic ideal. This is my favorite hero story because of its exciting plot, the fact is a true story and my support for irish independence.

  7. My favorite hero's story is the film called "What a Girl Wants". It is about a girl named Daphne Reynolds who leaves her home to go to England to find her father. Her father does not even know that he has a daughter, because his aristocratic family disapproved of Daphne's mother and sent her back to America. His family led him to believe that Daphne's mother had left him, when in reality she was still in love with him. My favorite part of the film is seeing Daphne having such a unique style and crazy personality without caring what other people think about her. Daphne is able to stand out in a crowd and express herself, which truly inspires me to be like her. Daphne struggles with the attempt to fit in with the social requirements demanded of her now that she is known as the daughter of a famous politician in England. She has to set aside her vibrant personality and conform to society because she doesn't want to jeopardize her dad's chances in his upcoming election. Throughout her process of fitting in with society, Daphne comes to realize that she doesn't like the person she is becoming. As much as she wants to be her father’s daughter, she realizes that none of it is worth it if she can’t be herself. Daphne is truly the hero of the film. Even though she faces a downfall of conforming to society and playing it safe, she realizes who she really is and the person that she wants to be, not worried about what others may think.

  8. My favorite hero story is from the movie Life is Beautiful. In the movie Guido, his son and wifeare taken captive my the German Nazis because they are Jewish. At the camp, Guido takes many risks each day to secure the safety of his son. Guido hides his son everyday so he is not killed. Guido also acts happy and cheerful the whole entire time while in the camp because he does not want his son to worry about their situation. At the end of the movie, Guido gives up his life so his wife and son can live. Guido's attempt to make humor out of a horrific experience made Guido appeal to me as a hero. He would rather of suffered himself then let his son suffer. The journey and the outcome was very sad, but Guido's selfless act makes him a hero.

  9. My favorite hero story is that of Martin Luther King, one of the most prominent men in American history. What he did was not just something written in a book or acted in a movie, he took action for what he wanted. When the black population was getting segregated from the white population because they were told that they were not good enough to sit with them and eat with them, Martin Luther King got very upset and decided to act instead of stand by and let it happen. He would hold these rallies and protests to help promote a safe way fro the black population to react to the hatred by the white people. Unfortunately, this did not come without violence and hardship for Martin Luther King. He had to suffer through experiences that people should not have to, like being threatened by white people, and having those white people damage his home while he was trying to get equality for the black people. That is what I find most heroic about him, the fact that he had all of these obstacles in his way, but he still found a way to keep moving forward in his dream for equality. It is not easy to find that quality in people, where they will stop at nothing to do what should be done. It was him against the world, and he did not stop because he was told to by one group of people. That is why Martin Luther King's heroic story is my favorite.

  10. My favorite hero story is the Transformers. Transformers is about a battle that has been going on since the beginning of time between the autobots and the decepticons. The autobots fight for the humans and want the world to stay a safe place but the decepticons want to take over the whole universe and cause havoc where ever they go. No one on earth new about this secret robot war until one day a high school named Sam discovered it. Sam has to fight off all the decepticons that live in the world around us without letting anyone else find out. Sam's mission becomes top secret and he must go his journey with only a few select people. Sam is on the side of the autobots, making good friends with their leader Optimus Prime, and joining the like of government officials to fight off the decepticons. Sam eventually destroys the decepticons but this is only a temporary thing and the decepticons come back again in the second film. But with Sam's persistence and drive to make the world a safer place he once again defeats the deception, but they will be back.

  11. My favorite Hero story character has to be from the movie The Boondock Saints, the McManus brothers set out from Boston to liberate all the corrupt and evil in Boston. they start off as just getting used to the busniess of killing the mobs from the Russians to the Italians. Despite becoming vigilantes they are setting an example that some problems are needed to be taken in your own hands if its for the greater good of all people. This is my favorite hero story because its exciting and was worth the watch, good movie that sends a message

  12. My favorite hero story character is Cinderella. This is both a book and a film. Cinderella starts off as a young happy little girl. Shortly after her father remarries, he dies of an illness leaving her with her evil stepmother and two evil step sisters. Growing up she is constantly forced to do all their work for them. She cooks, cleans, and does all of their laundry. She is left with very little freedom. One day, an invitation arrives from the king about a ball being held in order for the prince to find his princess. The evil step sisters attend the ball leaving Cinderella behind. Then, her fairy godmother arrives and sends her with a beautiful dress and a pumpkin carriage. She has a wonderful time and is the only girl who danced with the Prince eventhough he didn't know her name. Yet, she had to be home by midnight. She escaped the palace as the clock struck twelve leaving her glass slipper behind and thanked her fairy godmother for such a wonderful night. The next day the prince set out to find the girl of his dream and have every girl in the kingdom try on the tiny glass slipper. Cinderella tried on the glass slipper and it fit perfectly. She then married the prince and lived happily ever after. This is my favorite hero story because she over comes her fear and gets what she wants in the end.

  13. I would honestly say my favorite hero is a "anti-hero". Alex from a A clock work orange is the leader of a gang who commits terrible crimes throughout the novel. Yet after being subjugated to life altering experiments , Alex breaks free of goverment control and gets his revenge on those who wronged him. Causing him to eventually denounce to an extent his ways, and consider reinventing his own life.

  14. My favorite "hero" story is The Lion King. The Lion King is a Disney movie, which I'm sure you know. My favorite aspect of the movie is how Simba is able to have an epiphony that allows him to recognize he needs to return from his "exile" where he changes completely due to influences from timone and pumba, and save his pride from his "evil" uncle who staged Simbas' father's murder making it seem like Simba's fault. As simplistic as it sounds, the story has a great impact.

  15. My favorite heroic character would be the dog Dug from the movie “UP”. He is not only a loving animal but he is also a hero. Dug was the only dog that went against his cruel owners and his pack to help out his friend Kevin. Although Dug was not the smartest dog he is lovable, and loyal. Although he is just a dog. He does show that even though he is just a dog and not so smart, that anything can be done.

  16. My favorite hero is Flint from the movie, "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs." Flint is a scientist that always was picked on as a kid. He lives in a town that only has sardines for food. He made crazy inventions such as shoes without laces but they never came off. There was always a glitch in his inventions. He made a new invention that would make water change into food. The machine fired into the air and food started coming down from the sky. Everyone was so happy and honored Flint and called him their hero. But then the food got bigger and bigger and a food tornado occured and was destorying the town. Flint flew his car into the cloud and destroyed the machine and saved the day.

  17. My favorite hero is probably Benjamin Martin in the move The Patriot. His courageousness despite the loss of his two sons is what inspired an entire army's courage to not retreat in battle. His devotion to his family and country is something that people should look for in a hero.

  18. My favorite hero is Lightning McQueen from cars. The story is about how lightning wants to be the winner of the Piston Cup to have all fame and glory. On his way to the final race, his hauler falls asleep and he gets pushed out of the trailer. He finds himself in the middle of nowhere, Route 66. He tries to make his way back on the main road, but finds himself in Radiator Springs. He meets new people that make him realize that having friendships are worth more than a trophy. At the final race he gives up the trophy because he would rather help his friend who spun out instead of winning the race because at the end of the day, he saw the cup as "empty".

  19. My favorite hero is in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Despite Tom Cruise's descend in age, he continues to hold the ability to love his wife and when she has a child, he loves him very much. I think even though he knew that his life was going downhill in terms of his age, he was still optimistic about his life in other ways.
